Exercise is an important part of a daily routine for older adults. Regular physical activity benefits a senior’s balance, and workouts with small hand weights can build muscle, which can reduce the likelihood of falls and fractures.
At Allerton House Assisted Living Community in Quincy, along Boston’s South Shore, residents are enjoying the healthy benefits of a chair exercise known as Chaboom. The 50-minute program involves upper and lower body exercises, performed while seated, and in rhythm to music. Allerton House residents enjoy the twice monthly classes led by Instructor and Certified Personal Trainer Lauretta Jennings.
